The Ceremony of Paying Homage and Respect to Music Teachers: Bachelor of Education Program in Music Education, Department of Learning Management, Faculty of Education, Burapha University

 

            The ceremony of paying homage and respect to music teachers are considered to be cultural heritage and ritual ceremony that has been inherit for ancient tradition.

            The music teachers and musicians do believe that all varieties of Thai musical instruments have their own spiritual teachers to impart knowledge. Therefore, showing respect by paying homage will bring prosperity to oneself. It is evident through the disciple’s displays of respect for the master with a full of gratitude associated with the ancient Thai music tradition, one must attend a ceremony of homage and obtain the consent of the teachers who initially instructed them

         Additionally, it is a morale prior for students with the prosperity to their performances enhances cultural tradition for future generations to appreciate their teachers in passing on the Thai music knowledge and gratitude to the teachers. Bachelor of Education Program in Music Education, Department of Learning Management, Faculty of Education, Burapha University emphasizes the importance of inherit Thai cultural and tradition including with the local wisdom, Thai musician and Thai music and local people in Chonburi Province to learned the fundamental and methods of playing the high-class Na Phat songs used in the ritual ceremony and comprehend the principle of Wai Khru ceremony and ritual ceremony in order to the strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage (SDGs 11.4) for continuously sustainability
