The School and Community Sanitation System Development Project under the Royal Initiative of
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Fiscal Year 2024.
On July 2, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health at Burapha University, in collaboration with Saensuk Municipality, organized a project to develop a sanitation system in schools and communities under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for the fiscal year 2024. This is the first initiative of its kind aimed at promoting sanitation management systems in schools, communities, and establishments within the area. The project focuses on creating awareness, understanding, and cooperation among all sectors in applying the BCG model management concept to waste management. The event was held at the multipurpose building of the Saensuk Municipality Office.
The Faculty of Public Health has contributed as a resource to share knowledge and innovations from students and lecturers in the field,
consisting of the following works:
1. Mosquito repellent candles made from beeswax and lemongrass essential oil.
2. Initiatives to help separate and reduce waste by categorizing it into four types, which are general waste, biodegradable waste, recyclable waste, and hazardous waste.
3. Mosquito larvae elimination products made from oyster shell lime mixed with herbal extracts, which can eliminate 90-100 % of mosquitoes and are environmentally safe.
4. Innovation in organic waste management with a soil fermentation tank that uses coconut pulp to create a bin for food scraps to ferment into the soil, capable of holding 80-100 kilograms of food scraps peruse.
5. Multipurpose soaps and detergents made from leftover cooking oil.
6. An antimicrobial air spray prototype for livestock made with mangosteen peel extract, which is derived from dried mangosteen peels ground into powder to eliminate bacteria.
