Enhance holistic knowledge with the Wisdom of Traditional Thai medicine
and Alternative medicine in French for medical tourism
The high-income tourism and health tourism industries are among the target industries of the country, expected to generate revenue for the nation in the future. The Bachelor of Arts program in French for Communication recognizes the importance of developing graduates with the qualities that will meet the future demands of the job market in these industries, both in the Eastern region and nationwide. Therefore, courses related to tourism, such as French for Coastal Tourism and French for Health Tourism, have been included in the curriculum. Additionally, the program emphasizes the development of skills and experiences to enable students to effectively participate in cooperative education and future internships. In this regard, the French section has organized an educational field trip project as part of the French for Medical Tourism course, providing students with the opportunity to learn about Thai arts and culture related to medical tourism, traditional Thai medicine, alternative medicine, and sustainable health tourism.
In this project, students attended lectures on “The History and System of Traditional Thai Medicine” and “Herbs for Life and Disease Prevention” at Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital in Prachinburi Province. They also participated in workshops where they learned to make Thai herbal balm and inhalers, which are common household herbal remedies in Thailand.
