Public Hearing Seminar on Human rights-based Climate change legislation in the Eastern Region
The National Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with the Faculty of Political Science and Law, is organizing a public hearing seminar on human rights-based climate change legislation in the Eastern Region on September 7, 2024, at the Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University. The objective is to gather feedback from stakeholders for the purpose of drafting recommendations for the Climate Change Act. Faculty members from the Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University, including Dr. Akekaluk Nuttarit, Dr. CHITAPORN Tovisetkul, and Dr. Methina Isariyanon, have been invited to serve as speakers in the panel discussion on “Climate Change Law: Opportunities, Challenges, and Recommendations.”
This seminar emphasizes climate change legislation, aligning with **SDG 13**, which focuses on climate action and addressing its impacts. The hearing from stakeholders and the development of human rights-promoting laws also reflect **SDG 16**, which aims to create peaceful, just, and transparent societies. Additionally, the collaboration between governmental bodies and academic institutions in organizing this seminar demonstrates the spirit of **SDG 17**, which emphasizes partnerships for sustainable development and knowledge exchange.
