Reviewing the efforts to address the issue of individuals suffering
from Drug-induced mental disorders in Prachinburi Province.

          The Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 2 has scheduled a project aimed at reviewing the efforts to address the issue of individuals suffering from drug-induced mental disorders in Prachinburi Province. The project will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Dvaravati Resort, Sri Maha Phot District, Prachinburi Province. The objectives are to summarize lessons learned, exchange experiences, and identify solutions to the problem, as well as expand best practices for application in other areas, fostering learning and allowing these practices to be replicated elsewhere.

          The event will feature experts from the Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University, including Associate Professor Olarn Thinbangtiew, Deputy Dean, and Mr. Touch Khanthaprasit, Acting Head of the Dean’s Office, as speakers. This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 2 in addressing social issues.

         This project is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as follows:

1. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
– The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced by individuals with drug-induced mental health issues, directly contributing to the promotion of mental health and overall well-being of those affected, particularly within the impacted communities in Prachinburi Province. Furthermore, it seeks sustainable solutions for the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from mental disorders due to substance abuse.

2. SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
– The collaboration between the Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 2 underscores the effort to build strong institutions and promote social justice through tackling the issue of drug addiction. This partnership plays a critical role in fostering peace and stability in society.

3. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
– This project serves as a model of effective cooperation between academic institutions and government agencies in seeking sustainable solutions. It exemplifies the importance of partnerships across sectors to develop and expand best practices to other areas for broader application.

This initiative highlights the significance of integrating local cooperation to drive the achievement of multiple sustainable development goals.
