The Chemical and Waste Disposal Project
in the Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Gems for the Year 2024
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the staff and member of Faculty of Gems at Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus, organized a project to eliminate chemicals and waste within the laboratory at the Burapha University Chanthaburi Campus. The primary objective of this project was to manage chemicals and waste in the L505 Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Gems according to the standards of the Enhancement of Safety Practice of Research Laboratory in Thailand (ESPReL).
The project focuses on managing chemicals and waste in accordance with the ESPReL standards, which include seven main components. One of these components is the waste management system. This project not only enhances the safety of laboratory work according to ESPReL standards but also positively impacts social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Implementing this project helps reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste, thereby improving the health of laboratory users. Additionally, effective waste management reduces environmental impact, pollution, and contamination that could result from improper waste handling. The project also promotes environmentally friendly practices and supports Burapha University in becoming a green university with long-term social and environmental responsibility.
