The Garbage Collection Participation Project at Bangsaen Beach in 2025

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Burapha University, is located near Bangsaen Beach, a well-known tourist attraction in Chonburi Province. Recognizing the environmental issues, particularly waste pollution in the area, the faculty organized the Garbage Collection Participation Project at Bangsaen Beach for the fiscal year 2025 on Monday, January 13, 2025. The cleanup covered the coastal area from Chao Pho Saen Shrine to S2 Hotel in Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province.

This project has been held annually for three consecutive years, with waste collection equipment kindly provided by Saensuk Municipality. The initiative promotes environmental conservation, supports local tourism, fosters teamwork among faculty members, and encourages social responsibility and volunteerism.

This project is composed of three objectives as follows,

1. To reduce the amount of waste along Bangsaen Beach, specifically from Chao Pho Saen Shrine to S2 Hotel in Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province, with active participation from Faculty of Pharmacy staff.

2. To raise awareness and instill a sense of responsibility regarding proper waste disposal, encouraging the community and beachgoers to maintain cleanliness and set a positive example.

3. To enhance teamwork and unity among faculty members.

The Faculty of Pharmacy has carried out this project annually, with 2025 marking the third consecutive year. The event is strategically held during periods with high waste accumulation, such as Monday mornings following weekends, when waste levels are exceptionally high.

The faculty coordinates with Saensuk Municipality to obtain necessary waste collection tools and informs them about the event. The 2025 cleanup campaign covers the coastal stretch from Chao Pho Saen Shrine to S2 Hotel and includes awareness campaigns to promote proper waste disposal and beach cleanliness.

This project would be impacts for three parts

1. Increases community awareness and encourages proper waste disposal, setting a positive example for maintaining cleanliness.

2. Enhances collaboration with the local community and authorities to reduce beach and coastal waste, supporting sustainable tourism and generating economic benefits through responsible resource use.

3. Reduces waste accumulation in the targeted cleanup area, contributing to less marine pollution, particularly waste generated from coastal activities.
