BUUIC and AHS Host Outreach Program for the National University of Singapore (NUS)
to build the capability of the local community

          In collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), Republic of Singapore—ranked 17th in the world by Times Higher Education (THE)—Burapha University International College has launched an academic service project titled “Community Services and Cultural Study Program.” The program will be conducted over a period of seven days, from January 5 to 11, 2025.
         The objective of this program is to provide NUS students with hands-on experience in applying entrepreneurial knowledge to deliver academic services to local communities in economic areas such as “Nong Mon,” Bangsaen, Thailand. The aim is to contribute to the development of community products and foster cultural exchange between Thailand and Singapore.
         Through this initiative, faculty members and students from Burapha University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) will jointly apply entrepreneurial knowledge in real-world settings to enhance local tourism products and community goods. In addition to academic engagement, the program promotes mutual cultural understanding between the two nations.

          This project consisted of several activities, including:

          A community meeting to present the needs of the Khao Sam Muk community.

Faculty members and students from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Republic of Singapore, visited the area to learn alongside faculty members and students.

A workshop was held to design activities and develop tourism products and local goods based on the needs of the Khao Sam Muk community.

A knowledge-sharing and community development project was implemented in line with set goals, and data was collected to assess the outcomes.

         Impacts of the project:

Faculty members and students from both universities collaboratively applied their entrepreneurial knowledge to develop the community and its products.

Faculty members and students from Burapha University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) exchanged and learned from each other’s working cultures.

Community members enhanced their skills and careers, leading to increased income.
