The 21st edition of a project aimed at spreading awareness
about Marine Science and Resource Conservation in 2023

          The Institute of Marine Science organized the 21st edition of a project aimed at spreading awareness about marine science and resource conservation in 2023 led by Mr. Jirasak Chaemchuen, Head of the Academic Services Department, with Mr. Techin Pantumongkol, Education Specialist, Mr. Anek Phuthong, Audiovisual Studies Specialist, and Ms. Asan Meenapa, Researcher. The event was organized at two schools in the Eastern Special Development Zone of Rayong Province: Wat Pak Nam Phangrad School and Wat Tha Kong School in Phang Rat Subdistrict in Klaeng District from August 22nd to August 25th, 2023. The project involved 60 primary school students from the Eastern Special Development Zone, Rayong Province.

          The primary objective of this project was to educate the youth in the Eastern Special Development Zone on marine science as well as to raise awareness and appreciation for the importance of conserving and responsibly utilizing marine natural resources.

          Through their participation in this activity, the students were expected to enhance their knowledge and comprehension of marine science. They would also develop an awareness of the significance of preserving marine natural resources. The project aimed to create a network of young individuals within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) who would play a vital role in collective efforts to conserve natural resources and the marine environment. Furthermore, it served as a preparation for these young participants to grow into responsible adults with a strong sense of public spirit and a commitment to the conservation and sustainable use of marine natural resources.
