Participation to help collect trash Project at Bangsaen Beach, Fiscal year 2024
Due to the cultural activities organized in the Bangsaen community, Chonburi Province, for the Thai Lantern Festival, residents of Bangsaen are allowed to participate and float lanterns at various event locations. However, these water sources, such as rivers, canals, ponds, and even the popular Bangsaen Beach, often end up filled with a considerable amount of waste. This waste, both biodegradable and non-biodegradable, poses a threat to the environment, as natural decomposition may take a long time or may not occur at all.
Recognizing the significance of Bangsaen Beach as a prominent tourist destination, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Burapha University collaborates with the local municipality “Sansook” and local environmental conservation volunteers, both from government and private sectors. Together, they actively engage in collecting garbage starting from the “Welcome” roundabout to the boat landing area, the San Shrine, and the surrounding areas. The initiative aims not only to clean up the beach but also to raise awareness among tourists and business operators to contribute to maintaining cleanliness.
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Burapha University has undertaken a project to collect beach waste in Bangsaen on an annual basis, starting from the fiscal year 2567. They actively participate in the local environmental conservation volunteer project for the year 2567 initiated by the Sansook Municipality. The focus of this project is to enhance awareness, advocate for cleanliness, promote a smoke-free beach, and actively involve the local community and volunteers from various organizations in managing beach waste. The ultimate goal is to preserve the environment of Bangsaen Beach in Chonburi Province.
