Workshop on Quantitative, Qualitative, and Mixed Methods Research Designs
The “Workshop on Quantitative, Qualitative, and Mixed Methods Research Designs” by Dr. Ian Smith aligns with the 4th goal of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, ensuring quality education for all.
This workshop, held by the Department of Research and Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Education, Burapha University, featured Dr. Ian Smith as the guest lecturer. He specialized in educational research with extensive contributions in children’s self-concept development, human development, social development, and educational psychology. Participants included faculty members and graduate students, not only from Burapha University but also from other institutions.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and skills of faculty members and graduate students for conducting quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research. It also sought to assist participants in applying these research skills to develop robust research proposals and foster the exchange of knowledge and perspectives at the international level. The event provided an enriching experience, particularly aiming to gain international perspectives.
The half-day workshop resulted in valuable outputs, including a better understanding of research skills and the exchange of knowledge and skills with Dr. Ian Smith. Participants shared research experiences and improved their research skills, gaining insights into how to conduct qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research in international perspectives. We anticipate that this workshop will serve as a platform for exchanging information, ideas, and experiences to further enhance their research capabilities.
Consequently, enhancing research capabilities is the cornerstone driving to quality education.
