Academic Service Project for Training in Knowledge of Gems and Jewelry

The Faculty of Gems at Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus, has organized an academic service project of significant importance to enhance the knowledge and skills of those interested in the field of gemology and jewelry. This initiative focuses on providing academic training in two key courses: computer-aided design of gemstones, led by Associate Professor Dr. Saisamorn Niyomsoan, and certification of diamond quality reading, instructed by Lecturer Akadath Thisupakorn, both affiliated with the Faculty of Gems at Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus. The primary goal is to emphasize the enhancement and efficiency improvement of the participants.
The project places a strong emphasis on training the skills of designing gemstones using modern computer programs, aiming to enhance creativity in creating beautiful and contemporary jewelry designs. The goal is to cultivate expertise in design. Additionally, the project includes teaching the reading of diamond quality certifications, a crucial skill in the gems and jewelry industry. This training enables participants to understand and apply their knowledge in inspecting and selecting high-quality diamonds for jewelry production.

Enrollees in the training program stand to gain significant advantages through the enhancement of practical skills and knowledge, encompassing design principles and material selection. This empowerment equips them to adeptly apply their acquired knowledge within their respective professional journeys in the gems and jewelry industry. Moreover, participants will actively engage in shaping the future trajectory of this dynamic sector.
To sum up, the training program is geared towards endowing designers with expertise and proficiency in both design and material selection, fostering their ability to make impactful contributions to the ever-evolving gems and jewelry industry. Additionally, participants will play a pivotal role in fueling the future growth and advancement of this thriving field.
This training session is being held at the ‘Chanthaburi Gems and Jewelry Festival 2023,’ scheduled from December 7th to 11th, 2023. The event is hosted at the Gemology Laboratory, Faculty of Gems, Burapha University (Burapha Gemological Laboratory: BGL), situated within the Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Center in Chanthaburi province.
