Share the Light, Educate a Child for Sustainability
The economic challenges in Thailand have further complicated household finances at a critical juncture. According to data from the Department of Children and Youth, the number of children without parental assistance significantly increased in 2022. This had an impact on 720 people in total. Frequently, children are raised without the financial assistance of their parents due to the exorbitant expenses associated with living, encompassing essential items, education, and healthcare. Socioeconomic inequality has decreased significantly as a result of the efforts of organizations such as the Pattaya Children’s Aid Foundation. By providing shelter, education, and essential resources to disadvantaged children, these nondiscriminatory organizations foster a more equitable environment. It is imperative to promote understanding and compassion for the plight of disadvantaged and orphaned children by increasing public consciousness regarding the challenges they face.
MBA students at Burapha Business School (BBS) led the way in starting this ground-breaking project. Our project, “Share the Light, Educate a Child for Sustainability,” aims to solve the urgent social problems that orphaned and poor children, especially those who live at the Pattaya Children’s Aid Foundation, face. Our goal is to give these kids the resources they need to make their lives better, spread the word about saving energy, and lower their carbon footprints.
The undertaking places significant emphasis on the value of societal consciousness, with the objective of narrowing the socioeconomic divide and cultivating a collective sense of accountability in confronting these inequities. The project encompasses a range of endeavors, which comprise organizing educational workshops on sustainable practices, conducting interactive sessions concerning energy conservation and safety, distributing vital provisions including clothing, food, and medical necessities, and contributing financially to the foundation dedicated to long-term sustainability.
The project yielded numerous positive results, including heightened staff and child awareness regarding energy conservation, improved living conditions for disadvantaged children (via the distribution of essential supplies), expanded educational prospects and empowerment for the children, and a fortified collaboration between the Pattaya Children’s Aid Foundation and Burapha Business School (BBS).
Beyond its project status, “Share the Light, Educate a Child for Sustainability” stands as an all-encompassing effort to address the myriad challenges faced by children from low-income families. By getting involved, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of these worthy kids.
