On 7-9 February 2024, The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) has extended an invitation to instructors from Burapha University International College (BUUIC) to spearhead a workshop focused on designing pedagogy for Sustainable Wellness Tourism. This significant initiative is tailored for 200 teachers from the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) region, specifically Chonburi, Chachoengsao, and Rayong provinces.
Heading this educational endeavor are Assist. Prof. Dr. Krittipat Pitchayadejanant, Associate Dean in Administration and Organization Development, and Dr. Krita-orn Chewwasung, Chairperson of Hospitality Tourism and MICE Management. Both distinguished individuals from BUUIC have been called upon by NSTDA to share their expertise and insights on Sustainable Wellness Tourism.
The workshop’s primary objective is to impart knowledge about sustainable wellness tourism, empowering the participating teachers to develop effective pedagogical approaches and teaching methods. The ultimate goal is to equip educators with the tools and understanding needed to convey the principles of sustainable wellness tourism to high school students in the EEC region.
This collaborative effort between NSTDA and BUUIC marks a crucial step in advancing education and promoting sustainability within the field of wellness tourism. As these dedicated instructors guide and inspire the teachers, the ripple effect is expected to reach countless students, fostering a greater awareness of sustainable practices within the growing wellness tourism sector.
BUUIC expresses gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the development of educational practices in partnership with NSTDA and looks forward to the positive impact that this workshop will have on the region’s approach to Sustainable Wellness Tourism.
