Signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Burapha University,
the Office of the National Human Rights Commission,
and the Office of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee.

        The Faculty of Political Science and Law organized a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Burapha University, the Office of the National Human Rights Commission, and the Office of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee on March 20, 2024, at Room 402, Faculty of Political Science and Law, Burapha University. This MOU established a vital collaboration between Burapha University, the NHRC, and the EEC Policy Committee Office as well as various organizations in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) region, to jointly form a network focusing on human rights promotion and respect for all businessmen in the EEC area. Additionally, it aims to support education, research, knowledge dissemination on human rights within society, and various activities to promote local businesses in the EEC area for the benefit of organizations and to enhance human resource development, labor rights and competitiveness dimensions to support investment in the EEC area.

      The key objectives of this MOU collaboration between the three aforementioned entities in promoting human rights in the EEC area include promoting cooperation, advocating for a culture of human rights respect, and developing or expanding a human rights network by establishing a network of exemplary business organizations in the Eastern Economic Corridor that operate with responsibility and respect for human rights. It also supports academic services and various activities related to human rights to build knowledge and understanding following the United Nations’ guiding principles on business and human rights, promoting socially responsible business conduct, respecting human rights principles, and aligning with sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 10: reducing inequality within and among countries, and SDG 16: promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, ensuring access to justice for all and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
