The 1st Annual Meeting of Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand) 2024
On May 30th, 2024, the university hosted the inaugural meeting of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand). During this event, the network received the sustainable development policy of Thailand from the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (Dr. Janphen Mekkharak) And Associate Professor Dr. Kritchai Sriboonma, Chairman of the Thailand Sustainable University Network, joined the press conference with the mass media regarding the policies, directions, and sustainable development initiatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). This conference is a significant platform for policy direction setting for sustainable university development, exchanging and learning operational experiences for sustainable development, as well as setting standards and indicators for sustainable university measures, which will be crucial for elevating universities within the country and fostering collaboration among higher education institutions domestically, in line with sustainable development contexts at the international level.
This will become a significant model for internal sectors in the country that can be used as a template for expanding operations to other sectors in the future. They also visited the sustainable development exhibitions of Burapha University, the National Art Exhibition, the Contemporary Art Exhibition, Young Artists Exhibition, World Beneath the Sea, and the EEC Automation Park, a collaboration center for human resource and Industry 4.0 technology development.
Moreover, in the afternoon, Burapha University conducted the signing ceremony of the commitment to drive the university’s sustainable development goals at the Thamrongbua Sri Building. Led by Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Gasaluck, Ph.D., The president, along with the administrative team and department heads, have signed a declaration of intent to support and implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. This is to demonstrate our commitment to being leaders in education and research that focus on sustainable development. By integrating sustainable development concepts and principles into all dimensions of university operations, we aim to achieve sustainable development goals.
