Grand opening “AHS-Wellness Hub”
Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Burapha University, has a vision of being “a leading producer of healthcare professionals in Thailand, distinguished in wellness sciences.” Under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Dean, and in collaboration with RIA Laboratory Co., Ltd., signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on May 11, 2022. The company invested in the construction of the BUU RIA Academic Multi-Clinic for Medical Technology and Radiologic Technology, with a value of over 15 million baht, on the vacant land of the Medical Science Building at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Burapha University. The construction has now been completed.
Additionally, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences renovated the first-floor room of the Medical Science Building to become the Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Service Center (Thai Traditional Medicine Clinic) on November 10, 2023. Burapha University then held the grand opening ceremony of the comprehensive health service center of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (AHS-Wellness Hub), graced by Associate Professor Dr. Sumon Sakonchai, President of Burapha University Council, Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Gasaluck, Ph.D., President of Burapha University, and Assoc. Prof. Somtawin Jaritkhuan, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, who presided over the ceremony. Many distinguished guests from both within and outside Burapha University attended the event.
The AHS-Wellness Hub of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences consists of three clinics as follows:
1. Physical Therapy Clinic
2. BUU RIA Academic Clinic for Medical Technology and Radiologic Technology
3. Center for Thai Traditional Medicine and Alternative Medicine
These three clinics are established to provide services in Thai traditional medicine, including diagnostics, herbal medicine treatments, therapeutic massage, and related procedures. Additionally, they aim to modernize the services of the Physical Therapy Clinic, making them more comprehensive and efficient in terms of musculoskeletal and neurological health. The clinics offer health services to university personnel and the general public.
The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Burapha University is dedicated to developing the AHS-Wellness Hub into a comprehensive health service center covering the community’s prevention, treatment, and health rehabilitation. Additionally, it serves as a learning center, an internship site, and a place for professional experience in medical technology, physical therapy, and traditional Thai medicine for university students and those from other university networks.
Furthermore, it provides opportunities for interested governmental and private organizations to study and learn as well, aiming to enhance health knowledge and create sustainable health for society and the community.
