The Faculty of Gems of Burapha University and the Thai Goldsmith Association (TGA)
held a formal signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding.

          On Thursday, March 28, 2024, a significant milestone was reached as Burapha University’s Faculty of Gems and the Thai Goldsmith Association (TGA) formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The ceremony took place at the S606 room within the 100th Anniversary Building of Somdet Phra Srinagarindra on the university’s Chanthaburi campus. This strategic alliance aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and personnel development within the Thai gems and jewelry industry. Key representatives from both institutions attended the signing ceremony, including Assistant Professor Dr. Vasin Yuvanatemiya, Vice President of Chanthaburi Campus, and Mr. Mongkol Maneesinthop, President of the TGA. Other notable attendees included Assistant Professor Dr. Nantharat Bunnag, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Gems, Mr. Siri Sarapang, Secretary-General of the TGA, faculty members, and committee members. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By jointly developing skilled personnel and enhancing the skills of artisans in the Thai gems and jewelry industry, the MOU supports the provision of high-quality education and contributes to the sustainability and growth of the economy. Furthermore, the collaboration aligns with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through the joint development of criteria and guidelines for industry-related projects and activities. This initiative promotes research, innovation, and competitiveness within the gems and jewelry sector.

           Finally, the MOU exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by establishing a collaborative partnership between the Faculty of Gems, Burapha University, and the Thai Goldsmith Association. This partnership aims to maximize benefits for all parties involved, including society and the Thai gems and jewelry industry.
