MOU Implementation: OB-GYN Interdepartmental Conference
between the University of Miyazaki & Burapha University 2024

Currently, Burapha University has established collaborations with more than 50 educational institutions worldwide to facilitate academic exchanges for faculty members and students. The Faculty of Medicine began its involvement through medical academic services, and it has now evolved into exchanges of faculty, staff, and medical students for clinical experience at Burapha University Hospital. This is done in accordance with the university’s international relations policy, which outlines procedures for initiating academic collaborations, tracking activities, and focusing on enhancing the quality and standards of both institutions’ academics and professional practices.

In addition, Burapha University has enacted the Internationalization Fund Regulation (B.E. 2565) and introduced new performance indicators for the 2023-2024 fiscal year to support university operations, especially in fostering international relations and promoting the mobility of faculty, staff, and students (both inbound and outbound). The International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Medicine has thus organized the “Academic Conference under the International Cooperation Agreement” as part of the MOU implementation. This new activity in the 2024 fiscal year aligns with the university’s internationalization policy and the faculty’s vision of enhancing global standards. It provides opportunities for faculty members, doctors, and medical students to engage in international academic activities, including exchanges of clinical experiences through medical academic conferences, case reports, and other agreed-upon formats, thereby strengthening relationships with partner institutions.

Additionally, it promotes the institution’s international presence, supporting the university’s and the faculty’s efforts toward global readiness.

The event will be held online from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Bangkok time) every Monday in the third week of each month throughout 10 months of the 2024 fiscal year. The sessions will alternate presentations, offering case studies of rare or complex patient cases from each country to facilitate joint learning in screening frameworks, evaluations, and diagnosis and treatment processes. This will enable medical students, healthcare professionals, and faculty from both institutions to learn collaboratively.

The Faculty of Medicine at Burapha University expects that this activity will contribute to sustainable development by improving the knowledge, skills, and experiences of its personnel and students, enabling them to perform their duties effectively. The gained expertise can then be applied in treating patients, supporting the community, and benefiting society as a whole.
