Special Lecture “Comprehensive Preparedness against Future Pandemic”
On August 27, 2024, the Thai research team, consisting of members from the Faculty of Informatics at Burapha University, the Department of Disease Control under the Ministry of Public Health, and the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, attended a special lecture organized by Professor Insung Ahn on the topic “Comprehensive Preparedness against Future Pandemic” at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) in Daejeon, South Korea. The lecture, delivered by Professor Kisoon Kim from Korea University College of Medicine, focused on four key issues:
The ongoing threat of various pandemics.
The implementation of medical response measures using vaccines and antiviral drugs.
The establishment of governmental policy measures to prevent the emergence and spread of pandemics.
The study and research of Protection Science to prepare for future pandemics.
During the lecture, the speaker encouraged the Thai research team to ask questions and exchange views on topics such as vaccine accessibility, promoting public access to vaccines, and public attitudes towards vaccination—critical issues for both South Korea and Thailand. At the conclusion of the lecture, the research team presented a token of appreciation to the speaker, and a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.
