Project for the Development of Wat Thong Kung School Library "Pairoj Prachasarn"
with the OpenBiblio MyLib Automated Library System

Education today is advancing rapidly, creating a society of learning with new technologies constantly emerging. This compels learners to seek knowledge and develop their skills in research processes, analytical thinking, and timely access to information relevant to global events. This will enable learners to acquire knowledge and skills for lifelong learning. Therefore, school libraries must be updated and modernized to facilitate research and information retrieval from books, journals, various electronic media, and online resources. It is essential for students to be able to independently seek knowledge, fostering a love for reading and a desire to learn from contemporary media. Libraries must prepare to provide modern reading services and information retrieval for students, school personnel, and the surrounding community.

Objectives: To ensure that participants gain knowledge and understanding of library management using the OpenBiblio MyLib automated library system, and to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of teachers and students responsible for library work in schools, keeping pace with advancements in information technology. This will promote a love for reading and research among teachers and students in schools and disseminate knowledge of library information technology to community learning resources.

Summary of Operations: The project involved selecting and procuring books, cataloguing bibliographic entries, and recording data into the automated library system for Wat Thong Kung School “Pairoj Prachasarn,” with a total of 100 books. The OpenBiblio MyLib automated library system was installed, and knowledge was shared regarding cataloguing bibliographic entries, analyzing book call numbers, recording data into the automated library system, printing and attaching book spines, creating spine labels, and organizing books on the shelves.
