BUUIC Enhances Global Understanding and Sustainable Development
through Cultural Exchange with Ton Duc Thang University
On June 17 to June 22, 2024, Burapha University International College (BUUIC) welcomed Mr. Pham Thanh Anh Khoa, a representative of the Faculty of Sport Science, Mr. Nguyen Bang, a lecturer, and eight students from the Bachelor of Sport Business and Event Management program at Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam. This visit, part of a Cultural Exchange Program, supported Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4,11,16,17
The exchange aimed to enhance English language skills and foster cross-cultural understanding, contributing to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by building mutual respect and cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam. During their stay, students gained practical insights into sustainable sports event management through case studies, focusing on the Bangsaen 21 Running event. This exposure supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, promoting the integration of sustainable practices in large-scale events. The program also included a cultural exploration of Thai heritage, with an educational visit to the Temple of the Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok. This component highlighted SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, emphasizing the importance of preserving and appreciating cultural heritage.
This initiative strengthens the academic and cultural ties between BUUIC and Ton Duc Thang University, exemplifying how educational institutions can drive positive global impact. By providing students with enriching experiences and fostering international collaboration, the program advances global citizenship and supports the overarching goal of sustainable development through education and cultural exchange SDG4: Quality Education.
