Faculty of Sports Science, Burapha University, in collaboration with the Baseball Association of Thailand and the Softball Association of Thailand organized the training for coaches and the level 5-international baseball umpires in the BASEBALL5 2024 COACHING Clinic from 18 – 21 August 2024 at the Faculty of Sports Science, Burapha University, Chonburi Province. 

         Asst. Prof. Dr. Naruphon Wongjaturaphat, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science presided over the opening remarks and was honored to have Mr. Andrea D’Auria from the World Baseball and Softball Federation (WBSC) and Ms. Sally Lim, Secretary General of Softball Asia, as speakers for the training to build knowledge, understanding, both theoretical and practical skills for 46 coaches and the level 5-international baseball umpires. Moreover, Mister Wuthichai Udomkanjananan, President of the Baseball Association of Thailand presided over the closing remarks and delivered the certificate to the trained participants, together with Mr. Andrea D’Auria.  

        The Baseball 5 is a new sport that will be held in the University Games of Thailand and in the international competition in the future. Therefore, the faculty of Sport Science, Buraphra University, the alliances, the Baseball Association of Thailand and the Softball Association of Thailand organized the training to develop staffs in the field of Baseball 5 in order to prepare and develop staffs relating national and international sports in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals of Goal 3 : Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages for health support, choosing, finding, development, training, and retention of health manpower, and empowering health, and of Goal 4 : Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all as well as of Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, which is an opportunity to develop female sports personnel, both coaches and umpires to play a leading role in sporting events.
